Hemp vs. Marijuana - Do You Know the Difference?

By Colorado Hemp Fest
For Immediate Release: July 12, 2016

Collbran, CO –

Hemp vs. Marijuana - Do You Know the Difference?

Industrial hemp has over 50,000 uses and has been cultivated worldwide for thousands of years.  Join us at the 1st Annual Co Hemp Fest 8/12-8/14 just W. of Collbran, behind the Drive-In at 57510 Hwy 330 to learn more about all the BENEFITS of INDUSTRIAL HEMP.

Are you FOR FAIR TRADE and FREE ENTERPRISE?  According to the Hemp Industry Association, USA, "It is currently illegal to grow industrial hemp for food, oil, paper or fabric in the USA, but it is perfectly legal to export hemp to the U.S. and to process, consume and wear it there."  Colorado is trying to change this hypocritical practice, and rules are being developed to ALLOW U.S. CITIZENS to buy and sell U.S. CROPS AND RAW GOODS instead of being required to purchase imported items for use in foods, processing, manufacturing, and consumer goods.

The industrial hemp industry in Colorado is poised to bring sustainable growth to our economy, as CO lawmakers are striving to make rules that make sense for farmers, processors, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.  Colorado, again, is proving to be one of the leaders in granting, protecting, and maintaining FREEDOM and FAIRNESS to producers and consumers, alike.

Get the facts!  Get involved!  See the full cycle and the numerous areas in the industrial hemp supply chain that are literally an entrepreneur's dream!

Around 20 expert speakers will be sharing their knowledge and experience on the main stage over three days - 8/12-8/14/2016.  Many will also be available during our Q&A Expert Panel Sessions, and at the Info &/or Media Tents throughout the weekend.

Also on the main stage, hemp demos will be presented, and 20 bands will be entertaining festival-goers with a wide range of musical styles.

Disc Golf, Hackey Sack, a "411 Info Tent", and a kids play area are slated for this family event, and you are invited to participate.
Disc Golf and Hackey Sack tournaments are being coordinated; entry form is online, and fee is $20/per player.
Volunteer applications are now being accepted - see the Volunteer Form at cohempfest.org.
Sponsor, vendor, and non-profit booths are also still available, starting at only $150 for all three days.

"Without agriculture, there is no culture..."

A benefit for Western Colorado Agriculture Resource Center, the festival will feature educational sessions about industrial hemp and a business expo for hemp-related products and local vendors, non-profit booths, as well as several activities for the whole family.  The primary goals for the festival are: to educate the public about and promote the benefits of hemp; for local and hemp vendors to have a venue filled with people interested in hemp products and the farm-to-consumer cycle; and also for our entertainers, vendors, sponsors, and non-profits to get great exposure and support.  The theme for 2016 is "Freedom & Farming".

Western Colorado Agriculture Resource Center is based in Collbran, CO, and will be coordinating with local 4-H, FFA, and other youth groups in the Plateau Valley to provide several family-friendly activities.  A few possibilities include a petting FARM/RANCH "zoo", demonstrations of how to make rope halters for calves out of hemp rope, and agricultural presentations.  A portion of proceeds will be donated to benefit this admirable local non-profit, and to fund "jump-start" programs that are being developed with them for local hemp-industry related businesses and farmers.
